Quick Shot: A Study of Leaves

The weather in DC has been dreary and my 5 mile hike yesterday didn't yield any interesting results.... but I'm not going to let that stop me! There's always *something* to be photographed, so I grabbed the macro lens and went into the backyard for a quick study on leaves.

With the leaves on the ground, there aren't many colors, but the textures are fascinating. I shot several leaves, but chose these because of the complex geometric shapes in the leave veins.
