Quick Shot: Private Prayer

Churches are a dime a dozen in Europe - there's a church with some long history on every street corner waiting to help you absolve your sins. The magnificent churches are a little less common; you sometimes have to travel to a larger city to find those.

Cambridge, England is home to many magnificent churches, but the grand prize probably goes to the King's College Church. In a future Quick Shot I'll provide a little more history about the church, but the short version is that it has been around since the 1400's and was built by King Henry VI and VII (these were not the King Henry's that had a thing for beheading, that was Henry VII).

The church was incredibly beautiful and I'll have several images to share in the coming days, but I wanted to start with one of the smaller and more overlooked parts of the church. This private prayer room was built into one of the many stalls off the side of the ante-chapel and choir area, providing the well-to-do with a special place for prayer.
